The main difference: where your file goes

iLovePDF is a cloud service: files are sent to its servers for processing, which lets it offer many tools (Office conversions, OCR, e-signatures and more). iLovePDF states that it uses encrypted connections and holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification.

JpgDesk does a smaller set of jobs, JPG/PNG to PDF, Compress JPG, PDF to JPG, and a pre-send check, entirely in your browser. Your files are not uploaded to JpgDesk.

Which to choose

Choose iLovePDF if you need Word/Excel/PowerPoint conversion, OCR, editing, or e-signatures. Choose JpgDesk when the job is images to PDF or shrinking a photo and you would rather the file not leave your device, for example IDs, medical or financial paperwork.
